Wave management is one of the most underrated skills in MOBA games like League of Legends and Dota 2.
Freezing the Wave
Keep the minion wave near your tower by only last-hitting. This forces your opponent to overextend.
Slow Pushing
Kill the enemy caster minions and leave the melee minions alive. This creates a slowly growing wave that will crash into the enemy tower.
Fast Pushing
Clear the wave as quickly as possible to crash it into the enemy tower. Use this when you want to roam, recall, or take an objective.
When to Freeze
- When you're ahead and want to deny farm
- When your jungler is nearby for ganks
- When you're behind and need safe farm
